This weekend the guys and I took it easy, doing some food shopping and planning a BBQ. We whipped up everything from fried eggplant (which here is called Aubergine) to kebabs, lamb chops, and peppercorn steaks. Chris has been minding a small potato garden out back and we had the first opportunity to taste the fruits of his labor with some fresh potatoes and parsley fresh from the garden. We rushed to build a gazebo under threatening skies, finishing just in time for the downpour. We spent the night around the grill listening to the rain on the gazebo roof; just sharing good food, conversation, and a healthy dose of cider and elderflower cocktails.
